A quick addendum. We learned today that visitors are no longer allowed in the prisons until after the danger of the virus passes. We’d be taking up space if we were still there.

I will be working in Malawi in a high security prison -- Chichiri prison in Blantyre. The prison has a school for the adult prisoner to complete high school. View more posts
So glad you and Nora made it back ok. We in Elmvale area have been worried about you two. Glad you safely returned before the lockdown of Malawi prisons. Self imposed quarantine seems like a small price to pay doesnt it

Hi Jean,
It is good to be back “home”. We’re getting through our quarantine and becoming a little stir crazy. Nora is spending a lot of time on the phone. I figured out how to use Wifi with our cell phones so it saves some money. I spent two hours on hold with the bank this morning, so I’m glad I wasn’t using cell phone minutes. When we were at “streaming-church” on Sunday, someone signed in from Elmvale. We now recognise place names. In Malawi, we were starting to learn some places, but it did seem like a sea of nonsense syllables. Mzuzu, Lilongwe, Embangwene, Mulanje and dozens more.
